When the pandemic hit, costume designer David Ochoa turned candle-maker, created a series of unique wax wonders from his Venice Beach bungalow. Taking inspiration from sculptural artists and a mid-century modern aesthetic, David’s candles have a southern Californian vibe burnt into their DNA. One-of-a-kind molds, architecturally influenced with a sense of humor. Range from an 80s boom box, a hi-top sneaker and the cult glow candle; unusual hues include a unique splatter-paint technique. 2 years after the world stopped, the Davie Ocho Candle Co. is now fully operational and expanding constantly.
